INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Do you experience excessive worry, feeling agitated, restlessness,
difficulty concentrating, irritability, tense muscles, difficulty sleeping?
Maybe you've experienced a hopeless outlook, a loss of interest in once
loved activities, changes in your weight, fatigue, or severe mood swings.
Did you know that what you eat plays a role in your experience of these
symptoms?
How much stress do you experience from day to day? Does it feel like too much to manage at work or are you overwhelmed with your responsibilities at home? Are you in a relationship that is tense?
Did you know that stress has a physical response in your body and plays an equally important role in mental health symptoms, like the ones listed above?
I work at this intersection of mental health, nutrition, and stress.
As a trained and experienced therapist, I have an integrative approach to the treatment of mental health concerns (see the list at the top of the page). I have found that long term success is the result of an approach where therapy targets not only the psychological barriers to a happy and healthy life, but also the day to day shifts to improve nutrition and handle stress in an effective way. In our work together, we will work with traditional techniques for coping with symptoms of depression and anxiety, and we will do much more. We will also look at all lifestyle factors that may be causing inflammation and dis-ease in your body, including diet, sleep hygiene, stress management, and the barriers that get in the way of feeling better. We may also enlist support from other integrative providers along the way to increase the impact of our work together.
Maybe you already understand the connection between mental health, nutrition, and stress, but you have not known how to get started on change. Well, you have come to the right place. Start here. Take a moment to think about what it would be like to work with someone who can support your steps towards, not only improved mental health, but overall well-being.
With my integrative approach and your openness to new insights, we will work towards your improved well-being together.
